Finding the Hidden Picture: Uncovering Your Purpose and Destiny

I watched as my two year old granddaughter colored in an invisible coloring book. The pictures in those books are hidden until you use the magic pen to color over the pages. Then, a beautiful color picture begins to appear.

The Hidden Picture: Discovering Your Purpose

I met with a coaching client this morning.

He said" I live here at the office— 18 to 20 hours a day. I have a young son that I don't really see very much. And my relationship with my wife and family are strained . The business is doing well but not as well as it should be. And I don't feel like I am a whole person."

Sound familiar? Have you ever been in a similar spot in life?

I have.

The Magic of Faith and Purpose

Coloring in the magic coloring book is very similar. God established our purpose and our destiny before we were born. The image of what we are to become and what we were designed to do may be hidden from us— like the blank page in the magic coloring book. He has established every line, shape, and color. But we will not experience it until we use the magic pen —- faith.

But we are hesitant aren’t we?

Because it doesn’t line up with what the world tells us— get busy- hurry up— follow the success of others— be that person— sacrifice relationship time— focus on what the world tells you is important.

We are hesitant to look at the steps that God has lined up for us. As a child looking at an uninteresting coloring book of blank pages, we might start coloring in faith very hesitantly.

But the key is to start. Start small. Take a small step at first . As we move a little, He shows us bigger steps. How do I know?

A Personal Experience of Faith

Because I have been there. My coaching client and I set out his steps for this week. We will see where God will lead him as more of the picture is revealed.
